Natsu being a copy of Luffy. Gray being a copy of Ace. Same art styles. Same themes. Same story arc structure and methods of character development. Plenty of scenes are similar to One Piece as well. I do know this. Doesn't change the fact that it's a rip off. He could have tried to make it different. Maybe a little. At least a little. I wouldn't say Fairy Tail is similar to Dragon Ball. To me it just looks like Hiro tried to copy One Piece's success by making his own version of it but he's not that great of a writer so it ended up becoming very cliched and generic.

Oracion seis were a new cast of characters with their own story told inbetween. In the war there were many returning characters or ones already shown. And then the random allies of whitebeard. There is also ace being the reason luffy was there. The war was whitebeard and his random allies banding together vs all the warlords we knew and then the admirals. Luffy just jumped in with all the released characters. I think naruto's current war is more similar than fairy tail's oracion seis.
